I’ve got this kick-ass fork pushing around and don’t know what brand the shoulder engraving stands for.
It has the SLX spirals in the steerer tube, a recessed bolt hole, and only weighs 684g with a 20 steerer.
So, who did the big “D” like this?

I think that’s a pretty clear match.
seems I’ve chosen my adjectives correctly.
Funny I have no idea how or when it came to the stray fork corner of my bike shed. Must have just materialised. Wish it was a whole bike now...

FYI, the steerer tube with the five helical ridges pre-dates SLX by at least a couple of decades. It was used on SL/SP in the 1960s and was found on all Columbus tubesets above that level, until steerer tubes went to 1-1/8". There is nothing unique about an fork on an SLX frame. It uses standard SL blades and the standard Columbus steerer tube.

In fact when SLX was introduced in 1984, the forks used the blue bordered SL decal. This caused many complaints among consumers, who thought they weren't getting a full SLX frame because the fork decal didn't have a red border like the SLX frame decal. They didn't realize that the SLX tubeset used an SL fork and that the only tubes unique to the SLX set were the down tube, seat tube and chain stays. To qualm the consumer, Columbus redesigned the fork decal included with SLX in 1988, to have a red border like the frame decal.

that "D" panto had shown up previously and some folks had guessed "Dancelli" (which still may be possible) but I think it was narrowed down to one of the many Benelux housebrands that were supplied by Martens/Martelly and I cannot recall the name of that "D" brand but if you make a search of the recent "Martens" threads you may see it. EDIT: I did a quick look at the "Show us Belgians" thread and didn't find the name I thought I once saw but 2 possibles that were mentioned are Diamant and Dura...
