I Ride Alone. Yeaaah, All By Myself
Snot rockets at will. Burritos for lunch with no worries of an evening paceline. Change up the pace with no one yelling at me......
You know when I ride alone I prefer to be by myself.

I actually do the same thing almost every Wednesday. 80ish miles by myself. Stop and grab grub wherever, it's actually quite nice. I work in sales and talk to people all day every day, got a wife and young kids...... So the solitude is a great change of pace.

Everybody loves cropdusting. Best after some craft beer the night before. "Gas powered".

Bicycle Repair Man !!!
I am usually a solo act but do enjoy company... I have been helping coach a younger lady and we go on one or two rides a week and she is starting to crank it up,she says chasing me is a good workout.
This weekend I am going touring with a group of friends so the pace will be leisurely.
Our Sunday night D.O.G. ride (Decrepit Old Geezers) alternates from road rides to rolling up the fatties and hitting the trails.

That's all I know. Mucus Missiles, spit where I want when I want, pass gas, not certain anyone would put up with me anyway.

I know that when I ride alone I never need to worry about whether I'm slowing anyone down, and it's super easy to schedule the meetup... it's right in front of my garage, whenever I'm ready.

Fresh Garbage
I ride alone for the same reasons and because others don't like to ride how I like to ride. "ooh a fire road, I guess my road bike is a dirt bike today!" doesn't mix well with some of my friends.

I go out at 0200 for a nice 60 miler thinking I will be alone and then it hits me, I'm actually riding with me, myself and I. Always bickering about speed, cadence, when to eat, when to drink....it's driving me crazy but myself and I have no problem dealing with the issues.

i ride alone most all the time. Too hard to meet up and figure things out just go and come when you want. I work for the State Welfare agency people around all day. Riding alone I can think and work on sometimes my homily if it is my week to preach. Since it is this weekend for all the Masses I managed a 70 mile ride early and hopefully the Lord speaks something to me. I do wonder how much faster I could go with a group I am pretty decent rider for an old guy over 50. Did my 70 miler today in the humid heat at 18.7 MPH 3:45 with no stops. I just wonder what a group would do on a good day pushing the pace.

Riding alone in the predawn is when I truly feel free....leaving home in complete darkness, to watching the eastern sky slowly lighten, to seeing the first rays of the new rising sun. Almost no cars on the road, just the sound of the drive train on my bicycle breaking the quiet of the early morning. Very peaceful and inspiring.

Ride alone? Come on. If any of us could actually socialize we wouldn't be on the 41. Talk about preaching to the choir.

Riding with other people has its pluses and minuses. If you ride with people who are a little faster or about your same speed, you'll be pushed and get a better workout. If you ride with slow people on the other hand, they can really drag you down. I usually don't talk a lot when I'm riding anyway, so it's all about how it affects the quality if the ride for me.
