Vintage Parts Share Giveaway

I had this idea to start a thread that is for the sharing of "Free/Donated Vintage Parts".

Maybe it will work. Maybe it will get 3 posts and die, who knows.

Here are the rules:
  • Anyone can post something here, but it has to be for free. Please post a pic or two of the item. No text only posts, consider this a picture thread as much as it is a giveaway thread.
  • ONE ITEM PER POST.
  • Try to make it an interesting/unique item if you can! It won't be that fun if we're just giving away 32 Campy Record friction DT shifters.
  • Whoever takes the item just pays shipping.
  • This might be hard at first since we have to start somewhere but ideally you don't partake in taking until you've given.
  • The part has to be 'vintage'. Lets call it, manufactured prior to 1992 which is a year i just pulled out of the air.
  • Please try not to cloud this thread up with posts that aren't either giving or taking of items. If you'd like to say, "That's a great thread idea -holiday76!" that's great, but put it in your post which is also sharing (or taking) an item.
  • Maybe once your item is gone just note it in your original post but leave the item there, again, this is also a picture thread.
  • If you have more questions or discussion about an item, take it to PM. This is a picture thread.
That seems like more than enough rules, right?

I'l start.

I have to give away this 40 hole Campy freewheel hub shell. I've been holding onto it for a while, and I don't know why. I doubt I'll ever use it. Maybe someone else can.

CLAIMED

Anyone want it? Yours for the price of shipping.

Cat Eye Velo speedo

How about a Cat Eye Velo speedometer. The magnet ring clamps to the spokes and the pick-up slides over the axle. What an elegant design.

For a long time there was a "Pay It Forward" thread on this forum. It was very active seven or eight years ago, less so lately.
No rules, just stuff that people had that others could use, for the cost of postage.
Gave away lots of stuff myself on that thread...perhaps the BOC has supplanted some of that activity by the giveaway types?

Yes, I've received and given away stuff on the C&V Pay It Forward thread. The googles tell me there are several other similar threads in other subforms. Since this one has a less ambiguous title, I think it will make a good replacement.

Box o' Crap is always pretty random (though interesting) crap. This one will let you play for only what you actually want.

I have these panniers that I found for free at a garage sale. If anyone is interested, I can sort out the shipping cost. Let me know.

Seedsbelize was interested but is unable to accept these, so they are still available.

Quick update for 9/28/2018: These are still available. Shipping from CA to NY, across the US, for example, would be $13.

**Claimed and shipped**

Good ol’ Helicomatic lockring tool/bottle opener/spoke wrench. No need for two on a wheel set I don’t use.

This is gone.

How 'bout a 58T aluminum 6-bolt chainring? 157mm BCD, if I recall correctly -- works with the standard 3-to-6-bolt 3-piece Simplex adapter for cottered steel cranks. It came with the Sieger, but I have no use for that kind of gearing, and the Campag. Gran Sport pushrod front derailleur doesn't like the 45-58 jump, anyway. Yours for the cost of shipping ($6ish?).

Rather than trying to sell ill put these parts here instead. Limit screw snapped inside and i ruined the threads.

Hopefully someone can use the cage, levers, bolts and screws.

Shoes and Pedals...

Bike Forum members have been very good to me on a few, if not several, occasions. With that in mind, let me offer some items that are good but I will never use...

Shoes, size 9 1/2 to 10, I believe but they fit me.

Set one - shoes and pedals... SPOKEN FOR AND GONE

Set two, pedals and I might have a set of NOS cleats for the shoes - SPOKEN FOR AND GONE

I've got something to throw into the ring here - a rather unusual lime-green Raleigh chainguard - it's actually NOS - for a 24" Space Rider. Had it for ages with no use and would love to see it go to someone who could appreciate it better than I.

I Need a lower cradle for a Campy 2 bolt seat post. Right side would be preferable but I think they are usable on either side.

Please try not to cloud this thread up with posts that aren't either giving or taking of ites.
I can begin to see where this thread, which I think to be an excellent idea, is going. I am more than interested in participating unless it turns into an "I want" or "I need" thread. The forums have enough of those already. So...

I mean no disrespect to Wulf and can appreciate the frustration with searching for that last hard to find piece. But let's keep this thread as it should be kept - in the spirit of giving.

Again, no intention to be disrespectful to anyone.
