Is it a lofty goal to say I want to teach myself how to ride a bike by Thursday?

Fishing arrow has a small string on it. Bring it to the boat, which can be a real fight, and then dispatch it.

Now... back to your regularly scheduled goals thread

Rode about 8 last night

7/29 30.4 miles

Mtd 612.0/621.4 miles

Might have to ease off a bit in August, think I increased my mileage a bit too quickly. Legs recover from ride to ride, but they just don't feel too great. Maybe 3 - 4 days off before the Tour de Pines. I want to enjoy that ride, Itasca Park is awesome.

Unless I extend tonight's commute home by 17 miles, I'm short of my goal.

Despite that, today I crossed over 1,000 commuting miles this year.

I was shooting for 1500 km and 30,000 ft of climbing this month and I just barely made it. The weather has been bad but I managed 1532 km and 34,375 ft for the month of July. Keep on chugging!

July totals. 424.44 road miles. 167.08 rail trail miles, 591.52 total. I climbed two hills that had stopped me in the past, and I lost 5 lbs. All in all it was a good month. I'm just 10.5 lbs from unclyesding. ( Is that a word?)

7/26 8.11 miles
7/28 30 minutes on trainer

7/31 21.02 miles

With a thunderstorm in the morning and family stuff Sunday afternoon I missed a long ride this past weekend. The rest paid off, though and my Tuesday and Thursday rides were strong this week. One of my best months in a while with 317.73 miles plus 8 hours and 40 minutes on the trainer. Looking forward to my first century at the end of August.

Well, I'll finalize the month. I haven't been on the bike since the 26th. Work work work. A shame, perfect riding weather (when it doesn't rain.) Low to mid 70's and no humidity this summer.

I managed exactly 100 miles. I guess that's not too bad. Really want to see 200. At least the few of the times I got to ride I got in a little longer times and distances. I'd rather have 4-5 a week at an hour / 14 miles a day.

The good change, I didn't quite get what I was hoping, but I started the month at 219.6 and officially end the month tonight with a weigh in at 212.6. 7 lb down. Also really wanted to see 210, but I'm now coming down again. As I said at the beginning of the month, I saw 217 before winter hit and gained back to around 225. I can't remember the last time I was 212. I don't see it when stepping out of the shower and seeing the mirror. I do definitely see it when I'm standing there with clothes on. I haven't bought many new clothes. I pretty much only wear shorts and t-shirts in the summers. I've already punched a new hole in the belt and I need another one. Since shirts are so random at how they fit, and I like them big and loose, the ones that fit fine I am now swimming in. I can't wear them any more. The ones that weren't really too small, just too small for my comfort, now fit. Seeing me, you would probably say they are way too big.

So, it wasn't such a bad month despite all the rain. Hopefully I get out more in August, but I will probably be stuck with a lot of work all through next month as well. We'll see.
