Well, I fell just a wee bit short of my 250 mile July goal (239.11 miles), but I'm confident I can reach 250 miles in August!!

Aug 06 = 10.05 miles
Aug 07 = 10.57 miles
Aug 08 = 14.49 miles
Aug 09 = 12.38 miles
MTD = 71.16 miles of 250 miles.

Felt completely exhausted yesterday so no riding took place. Meant to add two miles but calculational issues made it a little more ambitious than anticipated.

Goal for August - 700 miles
Note: these are August dates and should have started with 8 instead of 7. I’m still learning my months, peeps, so bear with me.

7/03 - 43
7/04 - 51
7/05 - 51
7/06 - 38
7/07 - 47
8/08 - 53
8/09 - 43
MTD - 406
Another cool morning. Fast ride today. The Bianchi really chews up the tarmac.

I rode my Specialized Rockhopper this morning after swapping tires from 29x2.5” Maxxis Hookworms to a pair of 700x38c Kenda Kwest . Big difference in handling and speed .
Ever since I bought this bike last year , I struggled to find the right build that felt good to me . I even tried to sell it to my favorite pawn shop , but I would lose so much money I couldn’t let it go .
I’m glad I didn’t now .

I need to get out and do a couple serious rides. But between a crappy work schedule, a major car repair I'm going to tackle myself, and the weather, it's all I have time for right now...

Overcast this morning, riding my Rockhopper, I rode into town for the first time in a couple of months at least. Got home , I’d ridden over ten miles @ an average of 10.1 mph . So much for me being slower on this bike . I know that’s probably slow to a lot of you folks , but for me that’s fast . 😀
I stopped by the cemetery in town .
This front half is a Confederate Memorial Cemetery.
I noticed somebody has removed all the little flags that used to be on all of the Soldiers graves .
Sad .

It was a little warm today.
but I think it was a car that did him in before the heat would have.

This hill (Sepulveda Blvd.) is getting less intimidating every day. But the last mile is the steepest, and you have to climb the first 8.5 miles to get to it. That'll be tomorrow if all goes well.
