How many bikes are in your museum? Is this a open to the public museum? If so where is it? and how much to get in? Sorry if that sounds like a stupid questions, but I don't know you at all so not sure what your background is or are you just being funny about the museum thing.

^Don't be too excited. It was just a frame and fork that I pulled out of a dumpster. Apparently someone was trying to customize it into a fixie/ss since they torched off all the braze-ons... I wish I could have gotten a hold of it before they did that...

1987 Fuji Ecco. One year production run, and it appears to be all original. The matching frame pump is long gone though... I'll have some better pictures when I get some daylight.

I like my 84 Fuji Club, but I don't think the frame ride quality is up to my other road racing geometry bikes like the 84 Trek 660 or the two Miyata's (Team and 712). It seems it rides a bit rougher, I can feel the road shock banging through the frame, not anything like an aluminum bike I once had though.

To the other Fuji Club owner, you could do me a small favor and weigh your bike? Without saddle bag or water bottles. Reason I'm asking is I weighed mine 3 times, once on a bathroom scale by itself, once with me holding it, and then at an LBS, and both times it came out to just under 21 pounds, the LBS said 20.8. Problem is the Fuji catalog says 23 pounds for the medium size frame, my frame is the 58. That's a significant difference, and the weird part is it's on the lighter side rather then the heavier side like most manufactures would do.

Hello and thanks for inquiring about my museum. It is still in the planning stages but I have 30 showable units plus showcase smalls(odd stuff from the 70-80's). The museum will be in St Petersburg, Florida and feature road bikes up till the late 80's. This was my wifes idea so that everybody can enjoy them and i want to preserve the history of these classics. I stumbled across the Fuji on ebay and knew it was a perfect candidate for my collection.

I have been in and around the bicycle business since the early 80's and always admired the racers from that era. Some of my collection include:
1988 Peugeot Sante
1980 Raleigh Superbe(the gold laquer ones)
1982 Raleigh Suberbe(2nd gen run with more units produced for the buying public)
1979 Raleigh Team Replica
1985 Raleigh Prestige
1981 Miyata Team(2 of those)
1982 Benotto 3000
1977 Schwinn Volare
Several Colonago Supers/Mexico
Several Pinarellos including an early 80's Super Record Special
Viscount Lambert 2 (one with the aluminum/death fork)
To name a few. Most are in excellent shape(survivor).
There will also be a section for survivor Mixtes framed bikes as well as the sport 10 speeds(non racers)

Each gallery will feature some history of the bike and other small items from the era.
Not sure on how much to see the good stuff(2-5 dollars?) but it will have a gift shop with some teaser pieces to look at for free and lots of fun bicycling stuff to purchase(some vintage).

Sorry so long. This is really exciting for me right now and cant wait till the day we can secure a location 2-4 years(we want to buy a building large enough that we wont grow out of it).

I love to look at vintage road bikes, but likely won't be able to visit Florida.

A pic of my 14 yr old son's 86 Team Fuji, I rescued it off of CRList from a teenager who preferred BMX and was riding it as such! :-O It was a bit beat up. We spent a lot of time resurrecting her. Just put some new tires(Vittoria Zaffiro II) on the replacement wheels we put on( Mavic XP-21s with CODA Hubs). He has some tri-bars on it to even out his ride as he does not have a left arm below the elbow, so the pad is a great place to rest his left. He loves his Fuji (sold off his 87 Mangusta to pay for it)

I keep an eye out all over the internet, from Ebay to Craigslist. Unsolicited offers for items like bottles frequently pay off.

It's still rolling mostly stock, but I did some period upgrades (Suntour barcons, SR Randnnr bars, Dura Ace 7400 derailleur). Also threw a 7-speed 13-28 freewheel on there. It's a smooth, comfortable, yet surprisingly nimble ride. She needs a name.

my first fuji and my first suntour equipped bike! drove a long ways to pick it up today got home after dark, but I made my way over to a lit parking lot to sprint around on it haha

I thought I had posted this before, but it must have been a different thread. It's my 1986 Opus III. It's awaiting teardown/cleanup behind another project. I have most of the bits and pieces. I'm really only looking for proper bar tape---shiny white metallic. I'm not happy with the pink cable housing I've purchased as it seems pretty 'vibrant' to me. I really can't tell what the proper shade is from old catalog photos, so I'm still a little up in the air on that. I have purchased some from Jagwire, and if I haven't found something by the time I start on it, that's what I'll use.

The bike is small, only 49cm. It's too small for me, and I'm very short-legged. I suppose I'll look to trade/sell it once it's finished. Too bad. It's really a very pretty little bike.

The '86 Opus III is a wonderful year, beautiful livery. I used Benotto tape on mine briefly and although I don't have a photo of it I do have a photo of my TS V using the same tape:

I posted this bike last year after I got it. The brake hoods are torn and need to be replaced. I'm thinking about putting some aero levers on and found some on ebay for $240 dollars! Looks like they are going to be expensive to swap, any thoughts from the Fuji guys about options here.
The original levers are drilled Superbe, is an upgrade a bad thing when having a bike this old?

I'd say it's entirely up to you. My own personal preference would be to keep the bike original, but it's purely a matter of taste. It's just what I prefer, and is in no way an argument as to whether or not it's the right thing to do.

The brake hoods will be hard to find so I thought an upgrade to aero would work. Not going to fully restore it, just clean up, new levers and bar tape. Keeping the Suntour brand would be cool I think, just didn't know they are so expensive. I have other hobbies and the mod thing adds up real quick!
