Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I don't need another amp, but when he noticed the bike in my profile picture (It's actually just a bike) he offered an r8000 hydraulic group. Turns out we crossed paths and also worked at the same bike shop in Dallas, but at different times so we have a bunch of mutual friends. The group is a brand new take off because he went straight to SRAM eTap building the bike up out of the box. So yeah, that could be an awesome step towards the next bike. Now all I need is a frame. And wheels. And bars. And a seat. Ok, maybe one of everything except a stem.
I wish I had the kind of luck. Somebody was selling a R8000 with fulcrum wheels for 900. I would have traded two guitars and my amp for it. Oh well.

That said, modern groups are wonderful and the shifting, particularly up front, will be a big improvement over what you're used to. If you upgrade but stay 10-speed (Sora), you might be able to keep your wheels... but check with the wrenches here before taking my word on it.
Tiagra 10 speed.

Riding long distances on a calorie deficit, burns the most fat.

They each have potential good and bad.

Go read up on dcrainmaker.com for more than you ever needed to know about power meters.

Or you could be like me and refuse to drink the power kool-aid.

Depends.

Cranks give you the benefit of using whatever cleats/pedals you want. Pedals are moved from bike to bike more easily. Either way, I'd want to have full power measurement, rather than single-sided (such as with some pedals and crank arms).

Is there a way to measure "metabolism"? I'm pretty sure my RA can alter it.

I can be calculated from your estimated muscle mass. Inflammatory disease and steroids can increase it.

Nice looking guitars. I do a bit of repair and Tech work. I own 27 guitars currently. Mostly Stratocaster . I started taking lessons again after I was struck by a car. I'm not a great guitarist but I enjoy it, however arthritis is making it difficult to play.

I have a Powertap hub, and it works. It doesn't give me cadence, so I need to run an external sensor.

I have a Quarq, and it's crank based, and it works. It gives me cadence, and it also gives me right/left power, which I now give two ****s about.

I have some new Assioma Duo pedals, that work. The give me cadence, and some weird thing that tells me where my power is as I go round and round. I really don't give two for that either.

As long as you have the same BB, swapping a Sram Red crank is a walk in the park. Swapping pedals is also easy. So is swapping a wheel. I'm lazy, so swapping nothing is easiest.

I run Look cleats, so it does make it even easier.

How is this computed?

One thing that tipped off the crack staff at the Velo Vol medical institute was that when my RA was really out of control, my heart rate went up 20+
