Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I used to buy from them but it's just easier for me to go to the local safety store for the similar glasses at about twice the price, say $10. When I go, I buy 3-4 pair of smoked and 3-4 pair of clear and stuff them in my bag, glove compartment, etc.

Latest Edict

Anyone who has recently left NYC needs to self quarantine for 14 days. NY is the hottest spot in the nation right now, with the number of cases doubling every 3 days.

We just "cancelled" our Maui trip. I say "cancelled" because they'll let us reschedule it any time this year, but I have my doubts that it will be viable. This is a case where it would be nice to be wrong.

"My" first car (dad bought it for me to drive, but it was his car) was a 1970 TR-6

Similar to, but not as pristine as this one.

I have a toothache. First time ever in my life. I wonder how likely it is that it will get better and heal on its own. I am guessing these things don’t typically do so.

Should I ask in 50+?

ikr - it's a crazy deal. Factoring in the BB, that's only 50 bucks more than what I paid for the R3.

...but I need the taller stack of the R3, anyway, so I'm telling myself that I'm not missing out.

50+ can come to you! Go to the dentist. This advice is from someone with 11 crowns, 4 root canals, oral surgery and impacted extractions. I think I paid for my dentist's Lexus.

We had reservations in Dayton, OH at a Wingate for the end of April. We got a phone call from the hotel saying it was being closed on 3/27 and wouldn’t reopen until 5/1 and was cancelling our reservation.

I'm not flexible, but with short legs and a long torso I live for the long & low fit. My old S1 fits like a glove at 560/394. It doesn't even feel aggressive.

It most be all over the place for them to say that on TV.

Time to visit the dentist - they can quickly tell what the likely cause is, and what you probably need. I guess the worst case you would need root canal and then a crown.

The first time it happened to me, I was in NYC, so getting to my dentist was hard. The pain got steadily worse until I got home. The dentist gave me painkillers and antibiotics - in reality what I had was a small abscess (showed up on X-ray), and once the antibiotics kicked in, it eliminated the pain until I could get an appointment with the endontist.

There seems to be an active effort to pass the buck and blame New Yorkers for the hot spot.

I've looked at the R5 since getting the R3 and it's quite a different bike, not just a "turbo" R3. I don't think I'd be comfortable on it.

Well and on the flip side, for people shaped like me Cervelo doesn't have a cheap roadie that fits.

Feels like coming from root of tooth. Almost feels like between two teeth, though. Aches just a little constantly but hurts more when biting down. Not sensitive to hot/cold.

Luckily, there is another dr atlas in town, he is a distant cousin and an endodontist/oral surgeon. He said he could take a look at it tomorrow if it's not better. I wonder what's the chance it will heal up while I sleep? My guess is prolly not.

Good news is I finally finished the rehab of the Habanero. It has new brake cables, shifter cables, housing, and bar wrap. It's not perfect, but good enough. I keep trying to upload a pic but the upload process dies at 90%. Let me try a different approach....

I asked because sometimes my gums start to bother me. I increase my use of mouth wash and brush my teeth more frequently the pain goes away. What you said though sounds like you need to see a dentist.
