Slowdive, mostly their more recent live shows since around 2014. They've still got it, maybe even better now.

Run the Jewels

Yeah, check these guys out. Hip hop, but just hip hop, no gangsta element or any of that stuff. Just badass energy.
Run the Jewels. Start with the 1st album

A few minutes ago I was listening to Thelonious Monk. At the moment, I'm watching a live stream of a friend performing her own atmospheric compositions in an empty theater (well, the engineer is in there somewhere at a distance) via Facebook.

I'm just getting into Biosphere, a Norwegian (I think) ambient electronic musician. I'm only 25 years behind the curve on this.

quite a bit of good stuff in there...nearly a lifetime's worth of listening. some definite must-haves/essential recordings and faves amongst names mentioned.

I really like power metal. I’ve only really gotten into it within the last 6 months but even before that when I heard sort of power metalish songs I’d still really like them. I subscribed to a few YouTube music channels and I download my fav songs from YouTube from time to time. With mp3 converter youtube it's easy to do and I don't need to pay money for it. Now I have a nice collection of music that I can listen to anytime I want.

Pylon, another '80s Athens band that a member of REM once called the best rock band in the US at that time. I'd heard of them but had never really listened. So I spent a few hours listening to everything I could find on YouTube. They were good. Definite influences from Joy Division and Siouxsie Sioux and the Banshees, some early '80s Athens sound (REM, B-52's), but some of their own experimental sound as well. Apparently the band members considered it a temporary performance art project, and said "Nuff" after five years. Although apparently the singer and other members still occasionally perform live shows.
