My mom has and likes a Trek R200. She bought one new and a second lightly used one a few years ago when it showed up cheap at the bike store.

The second one is starting to wear down its front cassette (the bike is a weird one with a front rear derailleur and a front cassette and a rear rear derailleur and a rear cassette). Is it possible to find or make a replacement for this part?

I think it's a conventional cassette adapted to the jackshaft. Any good bike mechanic should be able to figure out what you need and find a replacement.

If it's just a cassette and not a freewheel, then you just have to get a similar range. The next-to-largest cog is unusable since it would cause the two chains to collide; so it can be replaced with a spacer.

Apparently the local recumbent specialists don't know what to do with it. Trek offered to buy back her first one rather than deal with a falied weld on a seat support a few years back, since it's an orphan product, but she likes the bike, so ideally she can keep it running indefinitely.
