Suggestions for upgrades to 2011 Scattante R570
I bought this new in 2011 and got divorced soon after. I have been cruising my Electra for the most part since then . I have barely put any miles on this bike. It is all stick except for a Selle Italia saddle. What upgrades if any would you do? I don't want to hear sell it because it is a Scattante, the bike fits me and I like the ride so this is it for at least this year.....

My suggestion would be to remove the dust, inflate tires, and ride.
Worst case scenario, new tubes and tires if dry rot is present.
Why do you feel the need to upgrade anything on the bike? Is it operational as is?

If it rides fine as you said, maybe you don't need any upgrades. You can maybe "refresh" the bike with a good cleaning, some new brake pads and tires. I say tires because if it has been sitting for five years I would get new tires.
Wheels are always a fun upgrade. what kind of upgrade budget are you lookin at?

I have just been out of road cycling for a while and wanted to test the waters on new stuff like carbon set post etc... I gave it a thorough cleaning/service and have went riding a few times since. What tires would you recommend? It is has the Vittoria Zaffiro tires that came on it new with Alex wheels

Wheels would be a good place to start. Some Veulta Corsa Superlights and Vittoria Open Corsa's or the new graphene. ThIs just where I would start. Lots of good wheels out there but no budget stated.

Budget is anything within reason. Why upgrade wheels? Not trying to be difficult, just don't know reason. Are they quite a bit lighter and stronger? I am 6ft 195. Not trying to break any speed records on the bike. I have a 195 mph dragster for that. But I do like to have nice stuff. That's why I bought a Scattante. LMAO! Seriously it was a good deal on a 105 equipped bike and it looks good with red and black....

I wouldn't upgrade a thing. I have a bike from 2009 that I actually "downgraded" by putting the heavy stock wheels back on it. The major distinction in ride performance is whatever riding shape I'm in.
