Hi!

Which country? Based on the English and handle, I would guess Central/South America or Iberia?

Each country has their own preferred bitcoin exchange and online cycling shop (which may or may not take bitcoins).

Crypto mining, still? Hasn't it not been profitable for over a year now?

economics are still good if you have your mining software hidden in online ads or malware.

But otherwise, the run on high-end graphics cards seems to have slowed.

It depends on the cost of electricity really.

It's around 8-9 cents / kWh in Argentina (OP) which is about 5-10 times cheaper than Europe.

You've raised a good point. I recently tried Chrome browser on my desktop PC, after using Firefox exclusively for ~15 years. After a couple hours on Chrome I noticed my CPU load would go to 100% and stay there until I closed and reopened browser. I then discovered the the issue of mining malware, as well as Chrome extensions to remedy it. I added "No Coin" extensions/add-ons to my Chrome and Firefox browsers, and no longer get lingering 100% CPU spikes.

Apologies for thread hijack, but I thought this info may be useful to BF/Internet users.

But, malware like that has little to do with which browser you're using. It's just client-side code getting executed by your browser, so doesn't matter whether you use Firefox, Chrome, or - god forbid - IE.
And sure, if your electricity is free, then you can be profitable.
