My vague understanding of the Hindu religion is that instant karma isn't really directly consistent with the original idea of karma at all. I was also disappointed that bad people don't get reincarnated as a cockroach

An actuary could determine the probability that he would be reincarnated as a cockroach in his *next* life, which is boring but not without some merit.....
