I think the red saddle/red tape combo can look good...

On yours, I’d go honey tape and saddle.

Are you going to ride this a lot? I know white gets dirty fast but I'd go with white to try and get that lug lining and decal to pop out a bit more.
Rare is it that I would not go with one of Bianchigirll's comments. I do not like a bike where things pop out a bit more. In my mind, considering aesthetics, the entire bike should be a blend of the right parts and features, with nothing demanding immediate attention. This is what I mean by nothing jumps out, but everything demands a closer look, once the big picture has been seen...

There was a time when things popping out were important to me, as this old Cyclops demonstrates....

However, I did rebuild the Cyclops, attempting to avoid the pop thing, and get something that looked a bit more elegant...

I think a black saddle and red tape looks nice.

I'm a "classic" look guy for the most part but once in awhile you just have to say "What the HELL" and go crazy.........

Having accomplished "crazy" in one fell swoop with the Diamondback LOL I am returning to "classic" with the Nishiki.

I have decided on the Honey Brown Brooks, brown Deda Elementi (my "go to") perforated bar tape, brown Dia Compe hoods and Panaracer Pasela gumwalls. I have everything but the tires, the tool bag can wait awhile. It's put up for the Winter, once warmer weather hits again I'll get it out and begin the clean up and detailing. I think they Soma Prestige will get the same treatment later this year but probably not with a Brooks saddle unless I can find a smokin' deal on a decent used one.

that workes well.
my first road bike had a natural colored ideale 90 with red pump and bar tape. Black and red works well. The saddle bag is red... the rest can follow. The current saddle is ... different.

I like the black saddle with black wrap for my black frame but now prefer brownwall tires as a contrast.

BTW, I did put together a black bike for my girl a couple of weeks ago. I want her to like it, so black & tan was a no-brainer:

Lots of compliments, even from non-cyclists, when I’m out on this one. Pretty sure that the rando bag gets their initial attention, then the gold highlights (cable housings, lug lines, decals, brass bell, maybe the tire sidewalls) build the interest worthy of a comment. I’ve tried other saddle colors on it, but they all seem to be a distraction.

My two black bikes. I'm not very creative with color here.

Black and chrome. Simple but elegant...
