$75. Note that might be a bit of a franken-bike. The stem dates from '74 or later, the quick-release brake levers are not original and the decals are missing so I'd want to be sure it wasn't repainted.

I'd say it's a repaint- I've NEVER seen a Schwinn in that color.

What would I ask? I'd ask that it lose about 15 lbs.

OP says fresh paint. It's still worth $75 I think.

I have a 1975 Schwinn Varsity in that identical color. Never been repainted. I upgraded it a few years ago and removed the suicide brake levers but the OP's bike looks a lot like mine. It's in my profile pic.

You can pretty much never make these worth what you have to put into them to get them in good shape.

Start looking for a Miyata or something, or at least a Raleigh. Everybody selling Schwinns seems to think Schwinns are really great! bikes. But you can find much better for the money.

^Best advice! People who don't know anything about bikes, think that anything that says "Schwinn" is "a good bike"- and if it's old, they think it's a "classic" and/or "a collector's item". Some of the old high-end Raleighs ride REALLY nice! Ditto Miyatas.
