Center lock disk trouble

I just purchased a set of wheels with DT Swiss 350 straight pull hubs. I am trying to figure out how to get the brake disk fastened onto the front wheel. There isn't enough room between the axel and the disk lock to get the freewheel tool in. The tool wont fit over the axel.
Anyone have any experience with this?

What size axle is the wheel? Generally this happens with a 15mm or 20mm axle size, which requires a special lockring either Shimano SM-HB20 or Shimano HB-M8010

sounds like you have the 20mm thru axle adapters that need to be removed first.https://dycteyr72g97f.cloudfront.net...WEB_EN_001.pdf

15 & 20mm axles need a lockring that uses a bottom bracket tool.

There is a tool which looks like the freewheel tool, but has the ability to fit in where the freewheel tool doesn't.

Man that would have to be thin walled. There isn't any room to speak of. I did order the other lock ring, got one for $9.00 so it's probably cheaper than the tool. Thanks though.
