I don't seem to be able to get to the first one though. And it still strikes me as funny that mondial awards only count rides in the U.S.

If it was up to me, all of the RUSA distance awards would only count US events. On the K-hound, they included foreign 1200k's basically because they didn't want to penalize people for doing PBP.
But, a couple of reasons for only recognizing US events. First, you don't want to get in the position of trying to verify what somebody did in some foreign country 20 years ago. If somebody in China says they rode 30,000k of Chinese brevets, how would you go about verifying that? Or would you count events in foreign countries that wouldn't qualify here? It just opens up a whole can of worms to do either.
Secondly, the whole point of the awards is to encourage people to ride more here. If you want to ride a gazillion miles in France and they (the French clubs) want to recognize you for that, great, but no reason for a US organization to be involved in that.

the funny part is "mondial" meaning "world" and then only counting US events. I have no complaint with limiting it to RUSA events. Even RM record keeping has been pretty shaky in the past. I know my name is in their records twice. Haven't felt like correcting that yet. Maybe if I get on a roll of 1200k finishes.

Yeah, well, how many countries participate in the "World Series?"

I mean, I don't have proof, but humanoids seem over-represented, if nothing else.

"Mondial" relates to the distance, not the location.
