I believe the fault is in the lever, not the caliper. It offers very low leverage.

I'll put my guess that this is either immediately pre-WWI, or the actual War period. I picked the three on the left as being representative of the King of England, a Russian Czar and a French Prime Minister. Obviously on the right is a German Kaiser.

This is an odd character beer stein made in 'Western' Germany with a genuine Reich bell built into the lid. Has a nice tone as it resonates in the glass. Translates - we save fuel, we ride bike, we stay fit. Prost!

Interesting how the pedal arms are oriented on the bike, so you pedal with both legs at the same time. The artwork reminds me of some of Robert Crumb's twisted Zap Comics stuff. Looks like the artist apparently had some sort of Teutonic butt fetish.

There's a classic German beverage called Radler (short for Radlermass) that is a 50/50 mix of beer and lemon soda intended for cyclists (a Radler being a cyclist). Very light and refreshing, and just what a cyclist needs after a ride. Or during. Maybe even before, or instead. I suspect this stein was intended for imbibing a Radler or two.
