There is a 12 oz beer on the stand inside the chicken. Some mesquite wood chip smoke and about 3-4 hours later good eating.

I've always wanted to try beer can chicken. Do you actually taste the beer or does it just make it moist?

The beer adds moisture and flavor to the chicken. It doesnít necessarily taste like beer the style of rub seems to be the flavor you will mostly taste. But opinions may vary there are several different ways to prepare the chicken for beer can chicken.

Somedays the chicken comes first then out comes the beer. Other days the beer is already out and then the beer chicken comes along.

What type of beer?

Pale ale, porter, stout? Wondering how much beer flavor goes into the chicken.

Thinking of Youngs Chocolate Oatmeal Stout.

That's a silly question...

Stubby bottles came first.
