This is my wife's. She was thinking about selling it, however, while searching for an idea of what it might be worth I noticed it had some unique features such as the gold trim on the frame, none of the models I found out there seemed to match.

So, I thought I would get some input as to whether it is just same ol same ol and put it in the annual bike swap or to try to market it to an appreciative group. Located in Calgary AB so probably a much smaller market.

Were the bike mine and assuming that I lived in Calgary (I do visit there from time to time), I would offer it for $350.00 CND and be prepared to accept $250.00. The bike should be listed as a vintage touring bike with triple rings and cantilevered brakes, two of the things that tend to be sought after by the touring crowd.

Make sure the bike is cleaned up and in working condition, if possible. Take really good pictures and lots of them, which will be posted on Craigslist or some other selling vehicle.

It's pretty dirty but, looks like it was very lightly used. The Tange 900 frame sticker on a bike with 5 speed rear hub seems strange. I thought Tange 900 was a mid to late 80's tubeset. The cantilever brakes and threaded eyelets make it a very attractive bike to someone that wants a fully loaded tourer. It's definitely a $250 bike as is. With a full restoration w/new tires & other goodies you might get $350.

This is a nice,entry level grand touring model. It's definitely not 1980-1981. I'd put it circa 1984-1985. We should be able to determine the exact year from the serial number. I suspect the 3-pulley ARx rear derailleur and 5 speed freewheel are replacements. I would expect Calgary to be a good market and GT bicycles typically warrant a premium, even the entry level versions. As is, this should fetch ~$250 CDN. With a good cleaning, ~$300 CDN.

Looks like my kid's bike, with the nice "N" thing on the seatstay caps. Hers also has the same derailleurs, but the bike color is blue. I think hers is also Tange 900. Hers is 84 according to the sn. Mine is 85 tange infinity, biopace cranks. Since last summer nice Internationals in Vancouver have been around 250-300 CAD but with summer rolling around again, who knows?
