Even new Konas are really cool. I'd love one of these.

Kona Hot, 18in frame, Reynolds 853, full XTR, $500 OBO @ Greenville SC, CraigsList.
This is a nostalgia bike for sure. I am the original owner, bought new. 18" frame, made of Reynolds 853 steel.
Specs:
Full XTR Grouppo
Mavic Crossmax wheels
Kenda Nevegal and Small Block tires
Synchros Stem and Seatpost
SDG Comp Ti Saddle
Fox FIT RLC Frame correct fork
26 inch wheels
This bike is perfect for someone getting into the sport or someone with a smaller frame. Climbs like a goat and handles just as well.

If you're still looking, there is an 18" example out in Greenville SC, right now.

And So It Begins... 3rd Season of Winter Riding
I commuted on my winter bike this morning for the first time this season. Here's a shot of it from my first season, two years ago:
This is a Barracuda A2B, built in Colorado in the late `80s or early `90s. The only site for them on the interwebs is down right now, so I can't tell you exactly which year.
I'll post current shots as soon as I can take some. Right now my commute happens in darkness, both ways, so it will probably have to wait until the weekend. Thank goodness for studded tires!
Here's another shot:

Thanks.
I always wanted an Explosif, couldn't even dream of a Hot. This one is one of my nicest riding, right up there with my Breezer I've had since 93

1989 Aluminum PRO 1.86kg (pdg decal on seat tube near bb) and 1990 or 1991 (Forgot which) Sierra MOS. Both are just a dream to ride, but like comparing apples and oranges.

I'm a Scott-aholic ever since I first bought a mountainbike back in 1991. I lusted after one of these Pro Racing's in 1993 (but it was far out of reach for my budget as I was still studying) but last week I -finally- felt how it rides. Fantastic.

This one just in. Unknown year GT Karakoram. Decals show it to be an early 90’s or late 80’s. Have to dig into it tomorrow. Looks all there and original.

Mountain LX drivetrain.
The bad... top cup of HS missing. Screws on downtube bottle cage busted off and a possible stuck seat post.
The good... priced good n’ cheap.

Little research suggests this Karakoram to be an 89! I likey the early ones. Triple butted mtb Tange tubing is my cup of joe.
i have the post dosed with tri flow overnight for a tugo’ War tomorrow. Pull the non OEM crap off and lube it up for a test roll.
Yes, another!

Whoa! That is a tall one. This bike is turning out to be a rescue then a clean up and lube project. The seatpost is being quite stuck. Happy to report that the broken off bolts in the down tube cage were actually hard plastic which took only a drill and tap session. The missing top headset pieces are giving me a head scratch. Bottom cup is complete so might just knock out the top and replace with what I have on hand. Overall the bike showed little use, even the chain though lightly rusted is not stretched at all.

A recent pick up in SoCal. Was missing a few of the original DX components, but now complete.

I've been looking for a multicolor Hardrock Comp for a while for sentimental reasons.
Good will outlet today. 12 bucks.
MERRRY CHRISTMAS.
Its a bit rough but solid.
