I think this is old news. Salsa/QBP announced this several months ago; by this point, any new Warbirds and Vayas in stores will have forks that are okay. And probably all earlier buyers have been contacted.
CPSC only announced it recently because, well, the federal government functions so efficiently -- at least these days.

Interesting. There are 54 bikes in that recall, roughly 8 batches of six bikes each. Fork molds that do 6 forks at a shot and they used a bad batch of pre-preg fabric?
It looks like Salsa/QPC is on it, so credit to them. It does confirm my comfort level staying with steel forks. I used to build fiberglass boats, many of which were sailed on the ocean. A couple to Hawaii. Very aware of how chemical mix and temperatures both at layup and cure are. Also that get it wrong and someone could die. (Three died on sisters to boats I built. I don't believe equipment failure caused any of those but is was a wake-up call that quality matters. Forks are in the same league, something I know very well as i nearly dies from a fork failure.

Many of the cheap suspension forks I've seen look pretty nasty. But, perhaps they don't simply fall apart.

This is interesting Ben, and your post echos what Rauol Luescher has been saying for a long time.

As I pointed out before in another thread (that was going ugly), all of this should be covered by Siu Blue Wind's thread in the recall announcements https://www.bikeforums.net/recall-an...l#post20871735
When you see a recall, please try to find it there first, if not then inquire in that forum.
