Also a big fan of this! I'm a sucker for anything purple and the pink highlights are perfect. Wheels look right on too. Good stuff!

Loving the Cinelli Alter silver stem. Is this with a 1” threadless fork or with a Quill adapter? Also, I can’t tell if you have one of the pin up girls on your Alter or not.
I also like like the Campy wheels and notice you are running Hutchinson tubeless tires. What has your experience been with the tubeless BTW.
Lastly I’m just curious about the toe clips and straps - you aren’t a fan of clipless?
BTW: Love your Cinelli. Great color and great chrome lugs. I love the Cinelli seatstay/saddle clamp detail.

My poor, neglected Puch got some bling, thanks to several BF C&V enablers. I’ll also post in the Campy Triples thread. This nice SLX frame deserved some love ❤️

1988 was the first year Bianchi had the brand. I assume that’s who made the frame. Very refined and a lovely ride. Even better now on the hills with my aging limbs.

I upgraded to Campy Athena 11speed on my 1989 Bottecchia SLX.
As I got older it was easier to shift using brifters, instead of DT shifters.
Also it is a bit hilly where I live so 11 speeds are easier on my old knees than 7 or 9 speeds. I picked Athena because the silver finish was closer in look to the original Campy gruppo.

I've perused this thread for years now, and I always dreamed of building a bike that was fitting for it. So being that this was the thread that helped me come up with the ideas for this bike and helped me build this Pogliaghi, I thought I would show off the finished product here. I want to thank everyone for posting their beautifully updated vintage bikes, so many of which inspired this build.
It's a real mix of old and new. I've only had it out for a short ride because of the weather, and I need to do some final fitting, but it feels great so far, quick and nimble.

I wouldn’t ride her until summer, when the sun is shining brightly and the birds are singing in the trees.

Its going to be 60 degrees on Tuesday here, and I'm so tempted to go for a ride, but the streets are bleach white with salt, so yeah, I'll wait for the birds and sun of springtime.

You know, I really did sweat every detail on this build, maybe because it is my last, but this was going to be the build with no compromise, so thanks for noticing.

BTW, I love that black stem. It looks fantastic.

Only the Campagnolo Chorus brifters and the Shimano Deore RD are modern-ish, the rest is at least thirtyfive years old. 15-speed Ergo:

CAAD3 Campy build I did a few years back. And the GT with sram is my current roadie. Hardest parts of both builds was finding the fork.

That GT looks killer. The saddle to bar drop is positively track-like.

Thanks! It's a great bike.
I had to slam the stem and use the lowest stack headset I could find in order to get the 1" straight blade carbon fork I found to work. Might have had to face 5mm of headtube off as well
