only in new jersey
well well, on a 50 mile ride, in new jersey you see beautiful scenery, as well as the ghetto, prison, traffic and open roads, and so on, best of both worlds, just wanted to share a few pics of my monday ride, from 4pm after work, and also a pic of my new altamira as i never posted..

You're not really in NJ unless you get a picture of your bike getting stolen a gun point!
Greetings from South Jersey bro.

North Jersey gets talked about for good reason all the time. South Jersey is a different world and very nice. The state is kind of divided and its sorta like the Hatfields and McCoys.

I thought the division was between yankee/mets fans and phillies fans.

As much as people rip on NJ, I have to confess... parts of it are really not that bad. I grew up in Bucks County, PA, literally just across the river. PA has some great scenery, and there's a great cycling community in the Philly burbs area. However, the scenery in Hunterdon County, NJ is just as good, and the road quality is often better. In fact, one of the weekly rides for the team I used to ride for took place predominantly in NJ mostly because the roads were better.

stole your bike
As a native NYer it pains me to say this: I like NJ. I say this now that I live there, and I'm right over the Hudson so it's nice having the Midtown view. It's been really convenient for bike riding as well because I'm a short ride away from 9W for my rides north.

shedding fat
After spending the longest year of my life in NJ, I must say the only and single thing I miss is the restaurants around the IronBound. Awesome Portuguese food and Italian food. The rest of the state is Chit!!!

There is nothing like biking with the ocean in full view. South Jersey is nice. Cape May up to Atlantic City.
Sand does get in the cassette though. Good trade off for the experience.

Nice pics. I think The Great Falls in Paterson is one of NJ's most under-rated sites. They are magnificent. I used to live in Mercer Cty (Ewing) before I left for Canada and, I hate to admit, I miss it (but only sometimes). I was just outside of Hunterdon Cty which was, as Rich (higherground) said....some of the best cycling in the area. Not quite as nice as Bucks Cty, PA but very nonetheless.
Nice bike too.
Cheers,
Brian J.
