6.4 feet tall is bmx a no go?
Am tall and ride the biggest bikes both in mountain and road bike circumstances. 61cm for road and 21 inch for mtb.
I could not fit on the bmx bikes that the bike store sells and I'm not sure if they are different sizes or all a standard size.
But what would I need if it exists?.
I know a bmx is supposed to be small for quickness and coordination of different tricks, but there is still only so small that I could go with that as well.
I think some tall people might do this sport but maybe not too likely.
Is is possible for my height to do it?

I've never been into BMX, since I got into road riding around age 10. Before that, maybe a single speed stingray.
But, are there 24" wheel BMX bikes?
At least some of the vintage BMX bikes also had tall setback seatposts, designed for larger riders.

What do you mean by fit?
BMXes are meant for short bursts of high-intensity standing riding.
No one fits seated on a BMX.
Unless you count kids riding bikes dressed as BMXes.
Even they don't fit the bikes particularly well.
Usually the cranks are too long and the BB too high.
Good BMXes do come in different top tube lengths.
You'' still not "fit" while seated, even on the right bike.
Check here:SIZING FOR BMX BIKES - Find the right size Eastern Bike
Height won't be a limiting factor. Balance, coordination, general athletic ability and tolerance for pain will.

Yeah
Yeah bud you can find a bmx that fits.
It may take a bit of trial & error but totally possible. I've got a 26" quadangle it's a blast they even make a 29 quad.
For true old school go 24 inch.
New school has a 22. ( I've never ridden one so I can't make an opinion.
Or you could go for the old standard 20inch. If you go that way. Make sure the top tube is long 21-22 inches with a Long stem.
I will say you look like a bear riding a toy but if you can get air. The 20 can really be fun. The bike is easily whipped around in the air.
Have fun.

Depends on what you're looking for in a BMX? They actually make quite a few oversized 24'', and 26'' bikes. SE Racing even makes a 29'' "Big Ripper" which IMHO is practically a mountain bike.
I'm 6'2 an I still rock out a 20'' old school Diamond Back. It just takes a little getting used to.

I'm 6'2" and I don't like the way 20's feel but there are quite a few BMXer's 6' or taller. Big Boy is 6'4" and he rides a 20" bike with 20.75 top tube. Look for bikes with at least a 21" top tube, maybe look at 22's or 24's. I just bought a 24, super fun.

Racing? Tricks? Both? S&M makes a XXXL Speedwagon with a 23" TT. Biggest 20" frame I could find at Dans Comp. Pair that with a XXL stem.

You can get a true bmx bike that fits ---- as far as a street or park bike, --
what do you want to do -- BMX, - or street/park riding ?
Old school guys like Stu Thomsen and Gary Ellis were in that height range, --

Find a group that races antique clunkers and you'll have even more fun, I'd bet.

Nobody fits seated on a BMX. There are thousands of people over 6 feet tall that ride BMX bikes. BMX's don't fit the same way a MTN bike would. Basically you just find something comfortable to you. Tall people usually prefer a longer top tubes(at least 21")and higher bars - 9" or 10". There's a guy who's 6'4" on that makes BMX videos on Youtube everyday.
As mentioned above if you don't feel comfortable on a 20" bike there are 22", 24", 26", and 29" options available. I bought a 24, almost got a 22 but tubes and tires would be a pain in the ass to get for me as 22" wheels aren't that common yet.
I bet if you tried something with a long top tube and high bars you would be OK on a 20" bike.

You should barley be able to pedal while sitting. As everyone else stated, you most likely want 21.25 frame up to 22". Definitely get 9-10" bars. I have several friends who are 6 feet + and they ride bmx. There's a company called injust that makes custom 22" BMX frames.
