I reached out for a high five, but was denied...I felt so rejected Maybe he thought I was waving
Would you high five a fellow triker going in the opposite direction? If its weird I wont try anymore

Bikes: This list got too long: several ‘bents, an urban utility e-bike, and a dahon D7 that my daughter has absconded with.

Yep, it's weird, just a simple raised hand wave is sufficient.

I wave at everyone (walkers, runners, bikes, trikes) as well as a verbal greeting. Maybe there's an extra friendly gene to blame here.

agreed, being friendly does not include 'reaching out to touch someone'...and, yes, I am a friendly one, saying hi or thumbs up or just a wave.

Ouch! Slapping hands or even just fingers can hurt.........maybe riders only going 3mph is ok, but ouch! Beware.

Hey Zinger...maybe if'n they look like they want to be touched that would be different? But most of the time that is probably not the case... Actually I am in small town that does not even have bike paths so maybe my opinion is 'skewed'///
