N+1 could equal N-1 or N-2.... Or, now N-3

I decided it was time for a new MTB, and I decided to go dream bike. Everything is paid for and this is my primary hobby, so why not.

But, living in a townhouse had my wife questioning 6 bikes....

So, I agreed to sell 1 or 2 of the bikes I do not ride much. So, I am prepping my Venge and Langster for CL. Great bikes, but I and a MTBer at heart.

Now that I have ridden my new bike (Sworks Stumpy) I am wondering about selling my Epic WC. The Stumpy has exceeded all of my hopes and desires, plus I still have my SS MTB for diversion. The Stumpy climbs almost as well as the Epic, and crushes it everywhere else.

Should I go N-3?

For some odd reason, I do not see that leading to harmony!

On a serious not, I only ride the Venge and Langster about 5 times each, each year. So, although they are nice bikes I do not feel too bad letting them go. The Epic has treated me great, but my new bike will get the vast, vast majority of my ride time now. There is virtually nothing that I would ride where I would pick the Epic over the Stumpy. And, I have my SS MTB when I need a change.

N-3 is a real possibility! It just feels so weird!

The painful downsizing decision.....

I have five bikes, 3 I ride, two I don't. One of the two is a 90 Trek 850 rigid mtn bike that I keep threatening to do a drop bar conversion on, the other is my wife's old Novara Strada that I inherited since she said "I'll never put my ass on that skinny seat again.

If I do the drop bar conversion, I 'm not sure I'll ride the Trek anyway, and the only reason I still have the Novara is it's a nice steel frame that I don't want to see turned into a hipster fixie.

I would imagine some day my wife will encourage a n-2.

You can't take it with you and your children will have to sell it all after you die.

If it hasn't been used in six months then get rid of it.

I just brought an SUV full of stuff to St. Vincent de Paul.

to use a variation of some spiritual guy in the bible...there is a time to buy and a time to sell, or give away, or donate, or just do a good deed.
