Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I think I've had some auras in association with workouts. Eat more, eat less; more caffeine, less caffeine; put some Mg+ in your bottle. These things are periodic and they'll go away with time...or get worse.

Just spent an hour getting my indoor stuff set up by moving tables and dusting off my Kickr and fitting my Propel to it. Now, I'm relaxing before I get out my clothes, towels, bottles, etc. This indoor crap is hard work.

We have a few IKEA items that have been good.

Modular wooden bookshelves - people have mistaken them for custom built-ins.

Kitchen table - also wood - durable and light.

Plus, a few other odds and ends.

On today’s ride we had to stop for a flagger working on a road crew. He asked about my booties. I told him they are neoprene and keep my feet really warm. He asked if they make a steel toe version, I said I did not know. Maybe a good Kickstarter idea?

Good news. Daughter #2 got her first college acceptance. She is still waiting to hear from her first choice, which she applied for early decision...they are supposed to tell her by Dec. 15th. But good to know there is a place for her at Penn State as plan B.

Turns out it wasn't a garden tour so much as a tour of the local viveros(I can't think of the word in English). I got a Bismarkia sp. palm tree and a vanilla orchid vine. So far been unsuccessful with vanilla but it's always fun to try again. Pretty plant.

Woody Allen summed it up for me. He said he’s not afraid of dying, but he doesn’t want to be around when it happens.
