Townie 7D shifter question

Hi all, I just learned how to ride very recently on a new Electra Townie 7D. While I love the bike and am making great strides in learning to ride, I'm not sure I'm a big fan of the twist shifter - is it possible to put on a trigger type shifter on this bike? Is it an expensive task?

Thanks in advance!

Most likely the answer is yes but you need to tell us who made the derailleurs. I am assuming it is a 7 speed but do not know that for sure. If it is a Shimano 7 speed drive train it should be very easy. Roger

Per the Electra website, it is the Shimano Tourney TX-35 derailleur (7 speed)

Any bike shop should be able to sell you what you need. They will maybe have to order one. Look in their catalogs and pick the one you think will work the best for you. Roger
