A few innocent and harmless questions.. if I may?
Thinking of building up a new bike from a frameset, but there are SO many choices. Can you help?
1. Endurance (or Gravel? same thing but more tire clearance?) or Lightweight, or Aero? Which is fastest?
2. Is CF really as fragile as the anecdotal evidence suggests? Should I be considering Ti instead?
3. Most bikes now have a disc vs rim brake option. Has it been settled as to which is best?
4. I'm considering tubeless, and there are evidently very few disadvantages. Is it true I can run a 25mm tubeless at 40psi and suffer no disadvantage in speed, but gain lots of comfort?
5. I need a tire that is very nimble, super fast, feels great, and can protect against the random instance of vandalous carpet-tack laydowns that occur from time to time.
6. I think I can get what I want online, and I measured myself with the Comp cyclist guide, so I'm assured of getting the right size. Is there anything I'm overlooking that I'm giving up by not purchasing thru an LBS?
7. I plan to do some of my own maintenance. From that perspective, which is the best chain lube?

Yes, totally true.
My Carbon Niner RLT 9 RDO gravel bike frame which is designed to ASTM mountain bike engineering standards is really just a Trek Domane frame with extra tire clearance.
In fact, a Giant Defy with 32 spoke wheels is the new Enduro.
The industry just wants to sucker us out of our money, that's all. Friction shifting is all anyone needs.

NFS is the best lube. Anyone who desn't know that should not be building or maintaining bikes. Head on down to your LBS immediately.

2. Bamboo is better than both
3. the rim is just a giant disk, both the same
4. a 40 psi 25mm tire is generally a flat.
5. cut a garden hose to length, joins the ends together.
