FS: 1972 Chrome Paramount P13-9
This is a 1972 Schwinn Paramount P13-9 (v2) in chrome. The frame is 24".
Sadly, I cannot keep this awesome bike. Hopefully it can find a new home with someone here.
I do believe it is in all original condition, except for the missing brake hoods. The original hoods were rotten/melted and looked terrible. I removed them. I did purchase reproduction Campagnolo world logo gum brake hoods. I will include the replacement hoods in this sale. Here is a link to exact hoods I have: For Sale | Velostuf
A few points that suggest originality:
The bike is in fantastic overall condition. It does look like a low mileage survivor.
Serial #: L72 207
There is some light surface rust at the bottom bracket. I believe it may polish out. For now, I have treated the frame surface with Fluid Film, which should stop that little bit of rust.
I am happy to have a phone call with anyone seriously considering the purchase.
I would really prefer to sell locally and avoid shipping. But I will take it to my LBS for packing and shipping if that is what works out.
Price: $1200 + packing fee at my LBS (I think they charge $50) + actual shipping . I am in Charleston, SC (29407).

A few points that suggest originality:
- tires are Clement Campionato del Mondo sew ups, which were an upgrade option on the 1972 Paramount order form (Campy side pull brakes were an upgrade on the order form too)
- the mileage count on the Joseph Lucas odometer that came on the bike is 303

oooooooooooooooooooooh. I wouldn't be surprised if that mileage counter is accurate. Beautiful, luckily it's too big for me. GLWS

Which LBS do you use? Options are limited in the north area. Love the Bicycle Shoppe, and Charleston Bicycle Company, but don't get down there much.

Hey JJames. The bike is still available. There has been interest, but nothing has solidified yet. When will you be in Charleston?

Charleston
We will be in Charleston Either Sunday night and Monday or Monday night and Tuesday.
I'd be divorced if I bought another bike.
The stable has 30+.
I'd realistically need to show good faith to my wife and sell 5 bikes to buy the Paramount. I'd do it though!!!

I hear ya. Let me know if you want to coordinate a time to see the bike while you are in town. No guarantee schedules will line up... and you may not even have the time to spare, but we can at least try.
