I tested; my chainrings are aluminum. I actually don't care which metal, unless there's some bad metal reaction with mixing them.
If you can live with a steel 110 BCD Biopace 38t PM me.

A little late to the game, but most community bikes shops have plenty lying around. We have a whole bin of 'em at our shop.

Hi, I'm new.
Own a Trek 7000 MTB from early 90s that had a mash up with a car tire...
The chainrings cracked and I need to replace the Biospace HP rings. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks!

What size ring do you need, I’ve got some that can be yours for the cost of shipping.

Why, thank you! My first post and what a welcome :-)

The rings are 46-36-26. The 46 is bent the most. I also just noticed that one of the five crank spider mounts are cracked.
I can probably ride it like this on the lower ring (which still have all 5 mounts) but should probably get that replaced as well...
So... how do I do this? Just replace the right crank - if i can find a match? I do think the biospace HP helps a lot on 15+ mile rides and would be eager to continue with it.

Thank you!

Matt,

Sorry about not getting back to you sooner. The Biopace rings I have are 48-38-28, all in VG-excellent (near new) condition. You are welcome to them for the cost of shipping (Flat Rate envelope). But if your crank spider is also cracked, that certainly needs to be replaced!

Crankset with Biopace

If you're in the market for a crankset too, there's one for sale in SFBay area:
https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/bop...142437399.html

No affiliation with the seller, other than that I considered those, and went a different route. The sizes seemed a little odd to me.

They don’t say anything like that. Here they are in photos, just taken today.

Shimano ought to try this again in NW 1x guise. There are simpler oval competitors

Hi Dfrost,

I've reconsidered and I think I will take you up on that offer for the Biopace rings, if you'd oblige.
