How to remove Trek Emblem off 7.2fx
Hi,
I was just wondering how to remove the Trek emblem, and ideally all Trek identifiers from my 7.2fx to remove
I am trying to make it less of a target for thieves.
I can't see how to remove it - if it is painted on they did a damn good job
any help appreciated

You should be able to just pry the emblem badge off of the head tube. THe rest would probably require repainting the frame.
Don't forget to replace any Bontrager parts as well, since those are a significant clue to the make of the bicycle as well.
What makes you think that low end Treks are theft targets? I have no delusions that my well maintained 7.3 fx is worth more than about $300 (even with a few upgrades) and if someone risks getting a criminal record for less than that (since it is worth less "hot") is really too dumb to be dissuaded by the absence of frame advertisement,

If you decide to botch the paint and decals on that Trek, you will easily turn a nice used $300.00 bike into a $50.00 bike. And it would still be attractive to a drug addict with bolt cutters.

what type of area are you in that you're thinking it's going to get jacked? live in a metro like ny, london? imo just buy a gnarly lock and make them work for it. don't get me wrong mate the 7.2fx is a sweet bike but resale value for a crook might not be worth the effort if you have a lock that is going to make them sweat to break it. crooks look for easy targets.

You could always wrap the bike in this. Would actually protect the paint. Or just use old tubes.
