FYI for Zipp disc shoppers
I understand that this is my first post, but.......
I just found out that a team mate of mine has run across a dilemma. He owns a Scott Plasma TT bike. He recently purchased the new Zipp Sub9 disc wheel, too. However....that particular wheel WON'T FIT IN THE CHAIN STAYS OF HIS BIKE!!! Oh yea....they didn't find this out until AFTER a tire had been glued to the wheel & now Zipp won't take it back unless be pays a 20% restocking fee!! He's keeping the wheel so his wife can use it & has since purchased another "plain old" 900 disc wheel. SO......for the sake of your wallet please ask BEFORE you pay out that much money for a wheel you can't use!!

Apparently where the wheel "bulges" out toward the tire....that's the same place the chain stays on the Plasma TT bike "come in". You know...for the "aero effect" I guess. Either way you look at it the chain stay rubs on the wheel....

I understand the skepticism......
Sorry, no pics available. I can tell you that the mechanics at my shop for sure know their stuff & that they went round & round with Zipp over it!! Unfortunately Zipp wouldn't budge.......

That's odd. Would never have thought that could be an issue. Thanks for the heads up (not that I'm in the market for a Disc-wheel or anything)

Look at the pic. Where the decals are....that part of the wheel contacts the chain stays on a Scott Plasma TT bike. That's the problem.

sounds as much like the issue is the design of the plasma stays as it is the zipp wheel. probably just a bad combination, it happens sometimes.
if i was zipp and someone wanted to return a wheel with glue on it, i'd charge them a restocking fee as well.
