Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I alternated between Eurosport and Versus feeds. I'd have to say on Eurosport, the best were the travel ads (Morocco, Egypt, Kazakhstan in that order) and Skoda. On Versus, I liked the Nissan Leaf ad the best.

As for least favorite: SIDI needs to fire their ad agency.

Bianchi on Eurosport
Cervelo S5 on Versus, of course. I only watched Versus one day. It sucked.

The ones advertising the tour itself, where they show all of the crashes and say that this year´s tour is absolute carnage

I only saw it once, I know hard to believe, but I liked the Starburst candy commercial with the contradictory dog with his ass out the window instead of his head.

Hah, those made our 5 hour energy ads look super-professional. The Sidi ads were soooo bad. I not sure if the spin the bottle, er shoe or the cooking one was worse. If those aired in America, they certainly wouldn't help cycling's image

This is the Skoda one ...

The kid on the trike spinning like a rat on crack was great, also liked the dog with ass out of the window. The IZOD spot made me ill. I've been surfing for almost 40 years and anyone in the lineup wearing an IZOD is going to get laughed out of the water. At least they found a guy that knew how to duck dive. GREAT race this year!!!

Actually, I am just so glad I didn't have to hear the Saab "born from jets" crap again.

The only ad that sticks in my mind is the terrible Sidi one on Eurosport. You'd think something Italian would have some style. It looks like some film school dropout made it for bus fare.

I just remembered that terrible venge ad on OLN with Cav just saying "It's a fast bike"

There is something nice about simple things... but that ad was just terrible. For a bike that is supposed to be a minor revolution in construction methods, it's just...nothing.

But it helps me maintain my girlish figure. Do I still have to hand over the card? OK, now that I think about it, I guess I do...

The best TDF commercials are still the ones from several years back, in which Bob was on a stationary pretending he was in the Tour.
