Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

What's the brooks thing on the seatpost? Looks kinda like a snap-bracelet for your pants or something.

If it's not a snap-bracelet for your pants or something, I think I just had a million dollar idea.

Everything leather!!!!

I saw leather bicycle mudflaps the other day. Seemed like an odd place for leather.

What ever happened to those bike frames that were all wrapped in leather?

Moto Jury build in progress:

Bars, wheels, and seatpost clamp are all temporary while I wait for mine to get here... Also, still waiting on VO smooth fenders, 35mm skinwall pasela tg's, and brooks mahogany bartape. Love it already though

Cool bike. Whats that leather looking thing below the saddle attached to the rear triangle? Also I like how only the rear wheel is locked. I'm too paranoid for that **** but whatever works.

This is project: Pug Ugly. I built it geared when I first got the frame but already have a geared bike. Decided to go with my original plan when i was giving the frame to go single speed. Recently scrapped that and just went full out fixed gear for the first time. Collected some parts, used to have clinchers.

Plans:
Paint rear wheel black and chain ring
New bar tape and stem
New pedals and double straps
Complete restore(paint, decals, etc.)

Before

After(No changes made yet, plan related)

I built this up in the back when i had some spare time. bought the frame off of craigslist and wanted a single speed with flat bars. I really like how it turned out. ill get a better picture or two later. It's currently a single speed but i will put a fixed gear cog and lock ring on it soon.

Looks like perhaps a light?
It's got a real utilitarian yet stylish look. Nothing crazy and everything there for a reason.
