Any Maine cyclists out there??
Just wondering if there’s any cyclists living around the lakes region and if there are any route suggestions (looking for the paths less traveled) this is a fairly new area for me and I’m hoping to get a locals perspective and maybe some help finding new roads to explore?!?

Ayuh... Mainah here, though a transplant. I tend to ride in the areas north of Portland, including Falmouth, Cumberland, Yarmouth and occasionally commute to the Old Port. Some decent roads out this way that I would guess have a bit more "runoff" area than the roads out in the Lakes Region. Happy riding!

Go to the small towns and ride the country arteries with joy. Norridgewock. Solon. Mercer. Cornville. Skowhegan. All of central Maine. Low traffic count.

There are some nice rides in the North Conway, NH area. There's a 50 mile loop you can do that goes down on side of the border, and up the other. You can start it in North Conway.

Midcoast is fantastic in summer. Almost anywhere. Roads are clean and people are friendly. I'm going to try touring the interior next summer; Piscataquis County, Carabasset Valley, Rangeley Lake.
