Check out the Soma porteur rack. Love mine. I found mine for $93 locally.
Here is mine.

I think that's what it was built for.

^thanks. I'm aware of the origin of the style of rack. More important to the rack was the porteur frames that were built for heavy front loads. All that being said, I think the folks at Soma are just trying to carry some beer home.

You didn't come off that way. You came off as being unaware of the original reason for the use of porteur racks.

I'm aware of that, thus the clarification.

I have to agree that the validation for Soma making the rack probably has something to do with beer transportation. My problem is that it doesn't have the gates - which is a positive and a negative. I like the idea of the VO issued porteur rack because it can accommodate my Devil's canti brakes, but it costs somewhere near $60 more. My bike is chromed out with martini olive frame and honey accents - so the black rack that is available through UC isn't going to work either.

Fortunately I'm not offended by the loss of intention in text. My wife can't seem to get points across that require finesse either in IM/Text/email.

Nice!
What size tires are those? And what do you think would be the biggest tire you could fit with fenders?
I'm considering the Timeline, Kilo WT and other similar but hard to find options. Track ends, room for wide tires and caliper brakes seem to be an unusual combo.

Love the Devil. I really like those frames. Really solid build.

700 x 32 with lots of room to spare. With the fenders I got though, I think the biggest I can get in there are 35's.

pardon my crappy cellphone pictures. just kidding, i dont give a crap what you think, really. i HATE lacing wheels. but the shop has been super slow and i didnt have anything to do so i built some new wheels.
the rear is a low flange gipiemme pista with a 15t zeus cog laced to some 36h mavic ma40s.
the front is some 36h low flange omas hub laced to another ma40.
the tires are challenge parigi-roubaix. get your panaracers and throw them in the trash.
unless they are on some crappy bikesdirect bike. then, do whatever. you cant polish a turd.
