Road Bicycle Weights
Just wondering what some of the weights of road bicycles are? If you all would be willing to share that.

My old race bike was 14.2 pounds, my Colnago CX-1 is 15.5 pounds with one set of wheels, 16.65 pounds with the other wheel set. My winter bike is over 20 pounds. Weights vary quite a bit.

My Pedal Force QS3 is 17lbs with a powertap.
Weight doesn't matter that much (+/- 6lbs). All about the engine. Just ride.
When I got a fast light bike the same people beat me up hills and on the flats, even if they were riding steel and cheap wheels.

Focus steel lugged downtube shifters and boat anchor rear wheel, 23 lb. Quintana Roo, somewhere around 20 lb. I used to weigh 145, I now weigh 163

I was calculating my BMI at the above page. I'm right at the top of "normal" at 6' and 178lbs. If I were 140lbs I'd be at the bottom of "normal".
No wonder cyclist have eating disorders.... I'm feeling fat again. Hahahahah.

Thanks for the in put guys.
No shame either I picked up a 30# Denali also, as much do to the price as not having any bike shops near by. Mostly though I got a bike, helmit and pump for $202.00 I f I see the short side of 200# I will reward myself with a new bike but for now I just need to put some miles under my legs and get the lbs. off.

Nothing quite like cycling to shed pounds, coupled with eating less and eating healthier food. Enjoy.
When I started riding about five years ago I was at or above 200lbs, out of shape and eating crap on a regular basis. Just keep at it and enjoy.

Quick Story, went on a bike ride a week ago with two friends. We aren't gearheads or anything. I have a 1986-7 bianchi strada, the other an 80's Fuji. With my rack and the gear in is (lock, tube, multi-tools-1 bicycle, one general usage-, water, also keys cell and wallet) we are both in the mid to high 20's, maybe low thirties. we are wearing tshirt and basic nylon shorts. It is only a 30-mile pleasure ride. Then have my more bohemian friend along. Sandles, Khakhi shorts, a Hawaiian shirt stuffed into his pocket in case we got to a bar to get a meal. He rides a Schwinn Varsity (over 40 easy), early 70's, derailuers that only half work half the time. Now this isn't a competition, but we all just kinda ride at our own pace and slowdown is someone needs catching up. Guess who is kicking whos' butt the whole way: The bohemian on the Varsity, that's who. Sometimes a few pounds more will only make you stronger.
Disclaimer, my friend rarely uses his car, mainly for odd work hours. pretty much anywhere else is got to by other peopels cars or riding his bike, the latter when possible.

I ride an aluminium bike, and it's about 9 kg. With me and some water I suppose it'll have to be around 80 kg. (The frame pump mounting is a bit makeshift, but it worked very nicely for the duration I used it.)

my 97 bianchi trofeo, steel frame with veloce group, is about 21-22 as such..
soon to have a record84 stem and record headset installed so i may drop a few grams.
the engine is 155-160, and could/should be 145-150 if it would stop eating cookies at work.
