Not useable for commuting to/from SF, but I'm sure some of the 2,500 residents of Treasure Island commute to the East Bay.

The plan is to have a ferry shuttle over at some point. That would be a quick trip.

Bay Bridge bike path opens all the way to Yerba Buena Island

Yup, I just heard from a friend that they finished it. Haven't done the bridge in a few months so this seems like a good opportunity to check it out.

And now - we at least have a perspective of what the western span path will look like - this from Bike East Bay who claim you can see it in VR if you go to their fundraiser:
https://bidr.co/events/biketopia

So get off existing path at TI, scoot across the island somehow, and then get on the new bit.
I hope I can still ride when this becomes reality.

Right now you could ride straight up the hill to entrance. A path to the island is being built that will take you under and around to the north side to get down to the flats. There is talk of charging an entrance fee on the island.

Worth adding that the proposed fee for Treasure Island would apply only to people driving cars. It's designed to encourage people to bike or take transit.

I live in Oakland, work in the SF Financial District. I'm thinking that, once in awhile, I'd bike over the bridge to Treasure Island, then take the Muni bus 25 over to SF. It's a long commute, yes, but I wouldn't do it that often.

I wonder, though, whether the bike rack on the bus is likely to be available. Do many people bring their bikes on this route?
