Suggested Shorts for Long Rides
Doing the tour divide this summer border to border, I was looking to see what you guys are wearing for 70-100 mile rides? I prefer the waistband but will take whatever advice you have. thanks

Fox Rangers. Dry quick and come with liner shorts. Lots of pockets. Internal adjustment tabs.

3, get 3... and wash the one you wore that night, then you have a clean dry one for morning,
& the day before that is mostly dry for the following day..

MTB shorts, whichever fit you the best. I personaly like Serfas Decline. Pockets, compression liners, normal looks, I do all my riding in them. I'm not egotistical enough to think the aero drag affects me in any way.

I like shorts that have pockets and a separate detachable liner. Favorite ones currently are Zoic Ether.
I also have some Zoic long convertible pants, but that model was discontinued. I liked the ability to wear long pants in the morning and zip off the bottoms when it warmed up.

Zoic Ether or Fox Rangers, have them both. I like them both though the zippers on the Ether cargo pockets are a bit lacking. I prefer the inner shorts from the Ethers, the pad just works better for me. Just kind of a trade off & overall I'd give them equal ranking in satisfaction.

well, no matter what folks respond here, you have to try on diff stuff and see how they fit, not to mention the completely personal and small adjustments of your bike seat.
The only real way is to get out there a lot on a given set of shorts and see how they are for all your nether regions--day after day, on a given seat, with given seat/bar setup.
On top of that is the whole "keeping them washed" and "you clean" aspect, in terms of avoiding any saddle sores, and not from actual fit issues/interaction of shorts/seat/you.
good luck on finding some shorts that work well for you, as the divide certainly seems like you'll sometimes be days inbetween proper washing for you and clothes, so a really good fit and seat combo would seem to me to be even more important than "campground or hotel" every night where washing and drying is much easier to do.

I like Nike ACG for outer shorts, but only after removing that inner layer of mesh. 🙄 Lots of pockets, and they shed dirt & water like a raincoat. 😁
