Where online can I buy the Mavic Speed Release Thur Axle 12mm?

I'm having difficulty finding a online retailer for the Mavic Speed Release Thru Axle 12mm for my new tandem and Enve fork. Anyone out there use this Axle Bolt on their front fork and know where I can find one in the U.S.?

Do you know for certain that axle will work with your fork... given the thread pitch, length, and overall-axle-width of your fork?

I have to ask because the downfall of TA's convenience is tool-vendors hiding how unique their equipment is.

Your ENVE speed release fork didn't come with the axle?

Yes, my fork came with one and I am looking for another. Hard to believe it isn't available thru online ordering basically anywhere.

I've sent email to Mavic and to Enve inquiring as well.

Yes. Like most folks however, having a spare or extra is necessary unless I want to go without riding for a bit ... and if it is lost, broken, or stops working for some reason, I'd like to know where to find a replacement.

Import it from a French online bike retailer?

Given it is a Mavic part...you may be sunk quickly sourcing it for say a tour. If you know the exact specifications that ENVE used (overal axle-length, thread length, thread pitch), you can perhaps find a more available 3rd party equivalent available by say QBP. For my Niner front fork, the stock Maxle wouldn't worth with pannier racks...so I found a SRAM (IIRC) allen-bolt axle equivalent.

After looking at some pics of the axle/fork it would appear you could use a regular 12x1 mm threaded through axle. You just have to pull the axle all the way out.

Enve actually called me back and replied via their website contact form ... stating I can buy a replacement/spare directly from them. I'm sure it won't be inexpensive, but I feel better having an extra.

Thanks!
