Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Rode a new Giant Defy Advanced 2 yesterday, and I'm in LOVE!

In the not so distant future, good bye to my Roam 2 hybrid and hello new Defy.

I'm coming over to the dark side...

I hear ya. I recently converted my Giant Rapid 2 hybrid to a drop bar. I am riding the heck out of it. Love it!

Congrats on the incoming Defy. Definitely a nice looking bike. You should keep the Roam though and get your money's worth out of it. I'm enjoying the heck out of mine and have some "upgrades" planned.

Just curious, what type of upgrades?

Shifter pods, derailleurs, bottom bracket, cranks, saddle, fresh cables, a top to bottom going over and some Ergon grips, which I just received in the mail today. I've already been running some road wheels on it with 700x28 tires. All of these parts are on hand so it's not like I'm going to have very much new money going into it.

My Roam 2 has been my "go to" bike this year so I've decided to keep it. Bought it on a whim from a friend.

I'm half tempted to paint it while it's stripped down to the fame, but that's a lot of work and it's not a butt ugly color now. It's silver.

Congratulations. I suspect you will really enjoy it! Giant's are an excellent value and well made.
