Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

So...back on the whole voter ID subject...I was looking over what was required to vote here in TX. The list included a utility bill with your name. It got me thinking...if I wanted to do any voter fraud, I could scope out the mailboxes of folks with lawn signs for "the other guy", pull a qualifying bill and then go early vote on Day 1, casting their ballot for "my guy". Later, they'd show up to vote and be told they already voted (or maybe they don't vote at all but if they have a lawn sign, they prolly do).

Sure, but that's an awful lot of work and risk (voter *and* mail fraud) for little reward. Meanwhile, enacting voter ID laws will significantly hinder the votes of people in numbers that are orders of magnitude larger than any fraud that's allegedly taken place.

Well, the cheating part is great. But the lying part, meh . . . I mean after a while you get to the point of "Hey, this is the way it is baby, that's how I roll. You with it? No? Next!"

Harsh, but real.

My wife and I never talk politics, so I was surprised to find out she voted the same way I did. So when you see two NY Gary Johnson votes..

So, my mother, father, sister, step mother, and girlfriend all voted for Romney. At least half of us wanted to vote for GJ, but we really want ******* out, so we all voted for Mittens. That's my report from Ohio.
