I hope everybody had a great new year and a great start to hitting their goals for 2013. I started my year with a slow, grueling half marathon on the treadmill... a combination of walking/running. Pace was 15:48 per mile. I'm driven to leave the clyde and obese labels behind me.
Good luck to everyone!!!

Im vacillating on the lower end now...196 or so when i exercise and get dehydrated, and about 204-206 when I pig out. I will be at 185 or less by the end of 2013. I lost 40 lbs + of fat in 2012, thanks in no small part to bike riding

I'm 6-7, so I will always be a clyde. I'm very comfortable at 230, could probably stand to lose a few more pounds, but no way in hell get below 200. I'd be a skeleton.

I definitely will be. I'm 6'2", and comfortable around 210-215 (although I haven't been there in a few years). I've got a ways to go before I get there, but I'm planning on getting to under 250 by the end of the summer.

I will probably always be an athena. At 150 pounds I would have a BMI of 22.1...Going much under that is not likely for me. By the end of 2013 I hope to have shed the obese characterization and maybe be approaching a normal BMI.
I rode 2006 miles in 2012. I hope to go over 3000 in 2013. I lost almost 30 pounds in 2012 without watching my food intake very closely. Now I've joined weight watchers to help me manage my food choices.
I can't predict the future, but it looks good for getting the weight under control in 2013.

I'm a big stocky guy even aside from being overweight,So I may still be over 200 lbs I've lose 50 pounds of excess fat so far, shooting for 40 more. By the end of 2013 I wont be overweight, I will be fit and muscular. I will have muscular calves, shoulders, biceps, back and chest. The six pack abs might take a little longer, but I;ll get there. Determination is a powerful thing

I'm somewhere between 215 and 220 now (was 212 before Christmas, but the weather has not been kind). At 6'1", if I kept the muscle I have but dropped the excess fat, I'd be about 200 or maybe even as low as 190. But if I actually get in shape, I'll put on muscle in my upper body. So I'll probably never be below 200 lbs while I'm in shape.
So, unfortunately for you guys, you're pretty much stuck with me.
There is no single number that tells you everything. Weight, (particularly)BMI, and even % body fat only tell part of the story. Don't get too hung up on the numbers and just enjoy the ride.
Cheers,
Charles

We're halfway through the first month of 2013. I'm hoping everyone is staying close to being on track for their goal weight. I'll be 51 in March. I'd love to leave the "clyde" (200+ lbs) and "obese" (205 lbs for me) designations behind me by then.
Keep pushing through... or get back on the wagon.

I'm 6'5 1/2". I played basketball at 225-245 (added muscle weight in college) and was said to be too thin to play PF. 225 is my goal weight, so I will always be a Clyde.

I am aiming to be roughly borderline clyde by end of the year. Honestly I am not too fussed about the weight, it is more about the fat. I want to get to around 15% body fat (or less) by end of 2013. I know someone mentioned that this does not necessarily mean fit and healthy, but the way I will be doing it, I will be! I will be focusing on my riding (target 10,000km for 2013) and my weights work in the gym.

The glide away from Clyde continues... 209 lbs, only 10 more lbs to go! I hope that folks are staying on track with their goals for the year. The weather will soon be nice enough to start cranking up the miles on the bike. I'm hopeful that it accelerates the weight loss a bit (but I'm perfectly happy with the pace that it's been coming off.)

I don't know where the 6 foot thing came from. The term clydesdale was borrowed from triathlons, I have never seen a triathlon where someone over 6 ft but less than 200 could enter in that category. The only place I see the 6 ft reference is this forum.

I'll always be a Clyde ... I'm 6'3" with a football player's build. And really, I'm ok with that. I'd love to get to 220 ... that'd be my ultimate goal I'd guess. Any less, I think I'd look unhealthy.
