Yes but someone will still need to setup correctly for you if you do not know how to do it yourself, you are at the mercy of someone else to get it setup correctly, if they can not get the Apex setup correct Yaw may not either.

I had front shifting issues with Rival where it could simultaneously have issues getting the chain over enough to upshift and yet also sometimes drop the chain onto the crankarm. Eventually solved by swapping to 5700.

I just had the same problem with my Apex.....My shop replaced the crankset under warranty and all is right again.....Apparently their is some sort of "ramp" on the chain ring that helps the chain get up onto the chain ring and that had worn to the point of not working.

I think your LBS may have been covering for their poor work.
First, you don't need to replace an entire crankset due to a worn chain ring.
Second, you don't wear out chain rings on a road bike, without tens of thousands of miles of use (or use in severe conditions, such as constant riding in snow and salt). Not sure the most avid rider has yet worn out the first Apex chain ring given how long the group has been in existence.
Third, the teeth would be severely deformed before you wore off the ramping and pinning of the chain ring,
Fourth, wearing out a chainring is a by definition a wear item, not a warranty defect.

Yep, probably cleaned up the crank and put it right back on.
