I don't think they are any shorter than most "track" bikes. I think they LOOK short for a couple reasons. The frame is BIG which always makes stays look short and it looks like the frame has a lot of BB drop compared to most "track" frames. I think the less level/greater angle makes them look short.

I didn't notice that tire until you mentioned it. Now I can't 'not' notice how wrong it looks without a gum wall. Good eye.
The platform with a little carpeting would be the ultimate dog cockpit. Any dog would love the hell out of that.
I agree with you that the overall width would make the bike a hassle for lots of areas. Most, probably.

$4,500.00 seems a bit steep for a coaster brake tricycle.
