Hardest rear suspension block for Brompton
Been riding my city bikes recent months. Did a 20 km ride on my Brompton yesterday and immediately felt putting more effort compared with my other bikes especially on the climb, it felt very slow while I was working very hard. I am using the firm version of the rear suspension already. What is the hardest rear block ? I prefer something has no suspension at all like a block of steel or something like that?

At this point, the best alternative to the firm Brompton block appears to be Kamoya's Jenny SUS, although it's heavier and a lot more expensive.

There is Joseph Kuosac extra firm block, sold by Bikegang, I think. For me, switching out the Brompton tires that came on the bike for Primo Comets made a big difference.

I've seen a few Ti suspension block floating around, in case that helps:

Why don't you try out a big hose clamp around the rubber block, to harden it. This has been done on the Brompton forums. The clamp goes around the middle of the rubber unit, preventing it from bulging out there, substantially stiffening it.

there seem to be some that look like they adapted valve springs out of car/truck engines.
I just gear down for hills , with a Swiss mountain drive 2 speed crankset,, it is like having a 50 - 20 t double crankset..
the BSR has a 2nd run through .. 6 speed gear range 17 ~ 77"..

Yes, since compression in length, increases the width of the Elastomer,
Logically as well as in fact, restricting the width increase will increase the stiffness, resistance.
& its cheap to try adding a Jubilee/hose clamp ..

I have been using the Ti Wave suspension for 6 months, its fantastic, not rock solid but nearly there, I can also recommend the JK ultra firm block for a cheaper option!

Another way to go is use a bit of rubber automotive hose that just fits between the shaft and elastomer which doesn't allow the block to expand inwards. Also helps with squeaking.

I swapped the 2013 OEM Firm suspension for a green Birdy one(hardest model/color).
I got mine from the local dealer, BFold of New York City. It was US$20? Can't remember
exactly, did the mod back in 2013. Weight is almost the same; but Birdy is stiffer:
