Cannondale CAAD5 R500 (2005) $600- worth the price?
Hi and appreciate your opinion since I'm no bike expert by any means. I can purchase this bike for 600 and wondering if that fee is fair.

The mods have me skeptical if they were improvements. I test rode one of these long ago, thought a decent machine- I recall Shimano 105, might be wrong.
fit first, condition. This is at “ used bike” window, not vintage.

I have one of these bikes in excellent condition. It is made in the USA.
I was offered 500.00 for it and turned it down.
It is a VERY fast and " quick" bike. If you like it , ready to ride, and it is your size, offer 475...or 500.00
It also depends where you live. There is a bike " shortage" so prices now are at a premium.

I personally would not pay $500 for a 15-year old used aluminum bike with mid-tier components.

It's not a hybrid conversion. I'm not even sure there is such a thing. It's a road bike with a riser bar / trigger shifter conversion.
Keep in mind this will change dynamics and handling compared to the stock R500. Any time you go upright and ditch the drop bars, you're raising the center of gravity. This affects cornering especially. An extended test ride is recommended to see if the conversion works for your riding needs.

OP, I agree with the majority of those responding...it is priced too high, is there a reason that you like the way it's equipped?
If not there are lots of other "nicer" rides out there priced in the 6's, I would keep looking.

It better be "like new" and have all brand new tires, tubes & rim tape, grips, chain &, brake pads to be worth $600. Otherwise, it's just another 15 year old 9 speed bike. Plus, you're gonna need to be at least 6' tall to ride a 60cm bike.
