Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What size bike do you ride**********?

If you are 6'2" or close and have a 32 to 33 inch inseam what size road bike do you ride and what kind is it? If you know the top tube measurement that would help.

I ride a 58cm with a 57.2 TT. Just wondering what other guys ride with the same measurements.

Thanks,

Bill

I am very close to your height and inseam if not exact. I ride a Lemond 59cm frame, and the TT length is 59cm. The Lemond geometry is great due to the longer TT for riders like me.

I'm just under 6'2" and ride a 61 cm. Fuji with a 59 cm. top tube. My inseam for a bike (longer than for trousers) is between 34" and 35". Fuji measures size from center of bb to top of seat tube.

I ride a 58cm c-t seat tube, with a 57cm top tube (Fuji).

I am 6 feet 3 inches with a 33 inch inseam. I don't know my pubic bone height but my saddle height is 78 cm. I ride a 60 to 63 cm frame depending on the brand, how the bike is measured, and how much bottom bracket drop. My Nashbar road frame is 60cm center to center because that was the largest size offered (I would have ordered 62 if it were available).

What size - crank question also.

I am about 6-1 and ride a 58.

Hey, a further question for all of you who are my size - - -

What length cranks do you use? I am using 172.5 because that is what came with my (used) litespeed, but feel these are too short. Thinking about 175 or 177.5 - what is all of your vast experience tell you?

172.5 is fine. Unless you're Indurain or Boardman and want to time trial pushing a 53x11.

I'm 176cm, inseam I can't remember, but long enough to ride a 58 I think. However my torso is short, so I'm riding a 54. HEHE. Very light bike, 2003 Trek 2200.

If you think the '03 2200 is light....look at the '04. Same frame setup as the 2300 with a step down in groupset. ZR9000 frame with carbon seat stays. Totally upgraded.

I'm somewhere between 5' 11" and 6' and my inseam is about 34 in. My Co-Motion is 58cm (C-T) and top tube is 58cm.

One question I've always had was how people with long torsos can comfortably ride a European-style bike with a short top tube. Don't people feel scrunged up?

I am one of those long-torso-riders. Adding a longer stem (or top tube) doesn't really help me. All that does is throw more weight on my hands. The ONLY way a long torso rider can get balanced on a bicycle is by moving the saddle back. I ride a 72 degree seat tube angle with the saddle shoved as far back as possible.

6'4", 38" BICYCLE INSEAM -

2003 - FUJI TOURING 64 C-T, 58.5 TOP TUBE
2002 - FUJI TRACK 64 C-T, 61 TOP TUBE
1998 - TREK OCLV 62 C-T, 59.2 TOP TUBE
1995 - TREK 830 MB 58 C-T, 23" (58.5) TOP TUBE
? - SEROTTA CSI 65 C-C, 61 TOP TUBE
? - FUJI DEL RAY 64 C-T, 58.5 TOP TUBE
? - SHOGUN 63 C-C, 58 TOP TUBE

? - don't know model year, picked-up used.

All have the same measurement, 32.5", center of bottom bracket to top of seat, and with playing with stem lengths, all are pretty close to the same dimension with the handlebars.

The Serotta is by far my favorite bike. Have not ridden the Fuji Touring yet. Just picked it up on end of year close-out at Harris Cyclery.

I'm 5'6".. 76cm inseam...

48cm Custom built Cr-Mo frame + 80mm stem...

but, my effective top tube is equivalent to a 53cm sized bike...

its the beauty of a custom frame... you can play w/ the geometry..

5'8" 30in inseam ride a 53x53 serotta and
a 21inch Trek.
I'm thinking I could move up to a 55cm frame (max)
will check it out at LBS when I purchase next bike.
